Biography

Gurpreet is a qualified Life Sciences attorney with a technical background in genetics (BSc) and in biological sciences (PhD) having gained extensive experience in the Patent profession within both the private practice sector and as an in-house Attorney in two pharmaceutical companies (specialising in antibody technology and inhaled pharmaceuticals). Gurpreet has gained recent experience working in an agricultural company, further expanding her technical expertise to include mechanical engineering.

Gurpreet has valuable experience working with start-ups, micro-businesses, SMEs, large corporates and universities in a variety of technical fields including: biotechnology; molecular biology; cell biology; virology; immunology; oncology; biomarkers; gene therapy, antibody technology, inhaled pharmaceuticals, diagnostics and vaccines.

Gurpreet’s expertise covers the full spectrum of patent work from drafting to prosecution of UK, European and overseas patent applications, filing EPO oppositions and appeals, conducting patent landscaping for freedom to operate and patentability, as well as advising on IP strategy and providing IP awareness sessions.
